Article Aggregator
The article aggregator is a service that gathers articles depending on what the key words are. In other words it acts as a filter for all those articles online with everything not fitting the keywords being dropped out. The uniqueness comes from the idea of combining different article service providers and then presenting the filtered results to the user. The service contains a ranking system allowing users to rank articles and the higher the ranking the higher it is shown in the result set to the user.
Improving the idea
The possible contexts that I came up with for this idea are money, business and work.
Money: Money is central to us. It dictates pretty much how we can live our life. This means money is something that is most of the time on people’s minds. It is scarce if we don’t take into consideration the US federal reserve printing constantly more money. Thus we want more of it and to do that we need information.
Examples:
A student wants more money: they need a source to find where they can get it. Thus a part-time job offer aggregator could help.
An old man wants give away money to charity: a charity aggregator would help describing different charities.
A 30 year old woman wants to spend money on clothes: a current clothes trend aggregator would help in choosing those clothes.
A 40 year old investor wants information on companies: an company news aggregator would provide news about a company that investor wants to invest in.
Business: In business transactions are made and knowing with whom you are transacting is important to determine if they’re trustworthy. Business is about partnerships, trust, exchange, people and relationships.
Examples
A company wants to do business with another business: the company can lookup data from a company feedback aggregator. The aggregator displays different views by other companies.
A customer wants feedback of a company: the customer can check the feedback aggregator to see what has been said about the company.
Work: In a work context the ideas of efficiency, perform well, improve constantly and work hard are common.
Examples:
A worker wants to improve efficiency: an efficiency improvement aggregator would let the user search for tips in his/her field of work.
A worker wants to pursue other areas: an aggregator listing possible positions matching the experiences of the worker.
Hi TH,
VastaaPoistaI'm not sure whose blog I'm commenting on. Perhaps you could identify yourself? :-D
About your idea report, I see it touching upon a relevant issue - consumers consider advertising from companies and brands less and less trustworthy. We would rather ask the opinion of friends, family, colleagues - basically peers - or even total strangers as long as we believe they are on the same wavelenth with us.
Now the question is, how could you come up with a new twist to different sites where people discuss the reputation of different brands? My worry is that this kind of aggrated information is now provided by giant players like Wikipedia, Google (reviews and comments for e.g. restaurants on the search page), etc. The success of an aggregator site you suggest, would require the contribution of masses to have enough relevant content. Any these guys have the traffic already.
Could you come up with a service that actually uses the data that these sites or someone else already generates?
Already now when you are researching trends and later on when developing your idea, you need to think about what makes the consumption of the media service social. How does the audience participate in the creation and consumption of the content?
How is it viral? How do you get people to become your advocates?
How do these media services make money? What is the revenue and business model?
How could you fail fast? What kind of relevant, fun, interesting information could you provide the intented target audience already today to test the viability of your idea. How can you get proof of concept and start gathering a following with minimun investement and risk?
Also, I'm a bit worried about how this is diffe It should be different from Wikipedia. If the service ranks
